About Our Church
At Heritage Baptist Church, you will find that you are not just welcome, you are wanted! When you visit us, you will find a welcoming atmosphere, hear preaching from God's Word, and enjoy uplifting music that glorifies Christ. There are Sunday school classes for all age groups, as well as a children's church program on Sunday morning. A nursery is provided for all services. It is our desire at Heritage Baptist Church to reach others with the Gospel, to encourage the saved, and to help individuals grow in their walk with Christ. God is blessing, and we invite you to come and be a part of what He is doing here.
About Our History
Heritage Baptist Church was founded in 2003 by Pastor Fred Ward and a group of people who wanted to see God do something in the Jacksboro/LaFollette communities. We are grateful for their faithfulness through the years. After being at the church for several years, Pastor Ward resigned, and Bro. Jeff Matherly pastored at Heritage until 2016. Bro. Ward returned to Heritage to serve as an interim pastor until August 2020 when the church called Bro. Roger Hilliard of Heiskell, TN, to be the pastor of Heritage Baptist Church. Since then, the church has seen many people saved and baptized and several others joining the church.
About Our Mission
An excellent definition of a New Testament Church is "a group of baptized believers who have joined themselves together to carry out the Great Commission." This is our desire at Heritage Baptist Church - to carry out the Great Commission. We are striving to reach our community with the Gospel and to help people grow in the Lord. We also desire to see those beyond our community reached with the Gospel. Heritage Baptist Church supports missionaries and mission organizations in the United States and in several countries to help carry the Gospel "to the ends of the Earth."
